To really make your organization’s vision come to life, create the whole picture for yourself and for your team. Start with your own personal vision and see how it’s fulfilled in the organization’s vision.
Once you’ve connected it for yourself, work with your team to connect your vision for the team to the organization’s vision. Ask them how their personal vision is fulfilled in the team’s vision and the organization’s vision. Have fun with it!
Describe what it will look like, sound like and feel like. What will people in the organization be saying? Why will applicants say they want to join the organization? What will outside observers be saying about the organization? What will the impact be with the people you serve? What’s the impact to your community?
The more you can make your vision come to life with a whole picture in vivid detail, the easier it will be to communicate it to others and to ultimately achieve it.
EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP ACTION PLAN:
How does your personal vision connect to the organization’s vision?
What can you do to help others see the whole picture?
“When a leader’s vision clearly aligns from the individual to the team to the organization, not only is the organization unstoppable, but it’s also a great place to work.”
