It’s safe to say this year has not gone at all as planned. The ongoing changes have forced many to learn quickly about adaptability and agility. We all have some good days and some not-so-good days, but adaptability and agility give us the ability to learn from our successes and mistakes so we can get past the obstacles and continue to focus on reaching our goals.

The same can be said about growing and scaling your business. At ELC, our small business clients tell us they feel frustrated and overwhelmed beca樂威壯 use they still want to continue to build momentum, but it feels like it takes 10 times more work for every 10 percent growth. Even if they’ve grown their business to 7 or 8 figures in revenue, they can’t seem to figure out how to continue growing without adding more work to their already full plate.

We understand. We’ve listened to our business owner clients’ challenges and learned this: They just want to simplify things. So, we created the Millions By Design system to do just that. By utilizing this system, it IS possible to build growth momentum in a very simple way and you can work as much or as little as you want.

In our Millions By Design system, we use just 3 simple keys to unlock your business growth – Clarity, Focus and Momentum.

For Clarity, we define what you want – your target goals. Then, we want to Focus on works well and get rid of the things that get in the way of growth. And to build Momentum, we want to do MORE of what’s working and scale it. That’s it!

Building Momentum with Agile Leadership

So how do you build Momentum?

Entrepreneurs and business owners love to try new things. There’s even a term for it: “shiny object syndrome.” The issue is when you get caught up in Bright Shiny Object Syndrome, it’s easy to forget about the things that are working best.

To build growth momentum in your business, you need to keep building on what works and scale it. In our Millions By Design System, we do this using Agile Leadership

The first step in the Momentum process is to establish measures to track progress. When you have Clarity on your goals and Focus on making them happen, measures help track how you’re doing along the way.

Of course, there are measures like revenue and profit, but we also look at leading indicators that we can measure to see if you’re on track to hit your goals along the way. You can use these leading measures to test and learn to see what works.

Then, we can adapt based on what we learned and test again.

This is how agile leadership works: Track your progress to clearly see what works and then do more of that to see what happens. Learn from each test and ask yourself “What worked? What didn’t work?” Then, make changes or adapt based on what you learned and test again.

Utilizing this methodology also makes your business a learning organization. Research shows that being a learning organization provides a competitive advantage. Learning organizations are superior competitors in their marketplace. They have brand equity their competitors cannot match. And they attract and retain the best talent.

Start Building Growth Momentum Today

First, you want to have Clarity on your objectives. You’ll have to take the time to step back and assess your situation. In this step, you’ll identify where you are and where you want to go. For more on gaining Clarity, click here.

Then, you want to Focus on what’s working now or what has worked in the past year or two. Identifying your successes in the past is your secret key to reaching success in the future. In this step you’ll analyze your best performances and figure out how can you do that again. Then, you want to clear all the roadblocks that slow you down. For more on finding Focus, click here.

Next, it’s time to test it out. You won’t know how well something works until you put it into action. In this stage, it is critical to track your progress not just by looking at profit and revenue, but also by other leading indicators that can give you a more holistic view of how this test is helping you reach your goals.

Learn from the results. Adapt and Test again. It’s this cycle of continuous improvement that allows you to build growth momentum and continue to scale your business.
